Megan Boswell in court Thursday
Megan Boswell appeared in Sullivan County court Thursday afternoon. Boswell’s attorney’s have asked for a change of venue because of publicity around the case, while the state want the case tried in Sullivan County. Judge James Goodwin addressed that motion , which would bring in a jury from another county. The judge says a jury will first be chosen in Sullivan County before he makes a ruling on going to another county. Goodwin hopes to have a Sullivan County jury selected in December. If an impartial jury cannot be found in Sullivan County, Goodwin said the court will have to find another similar-sized county and attempt to pull a jury from there. Goodwin set the next court date for Nov. 1, 2024. Boswell will be tried for the murder of her daughter Evelyn, whose body was discovered in a out building on family property off of Muddy Creek Road.
