Suspect charged with Smyth County deputy’s death has died
A North Carolina man charged with the murder of a Smyth County deputy has died. The Commonwealth Attorney of Smyth County, Phillip Blevins, said 65 year old Timothy Wayne Goodman died at the Johnson City Medical Center Friday morning. On August 9, Deputy Hunter Reedy was fatally shot during a traffic stop in Smyth County. Deputy Michael Fedorchuk was also injured in the shooting. A Celebration of Life for Deputy Reedy is scheduled today at Chilhowie Christian Church from 3 p,m. til 6 p.m. Reedy’s burial is Saturday for family only.
