TBI says disabled adult in Carter County was given sexual favors and drugs by caretaker
The TBI received arrest warrants for a Carter County woman who is accused of taking advantage of a vulnerable adult.
Selena Catherine Silver, 56, is charged with abuse, sexual battery and sexual exploitation by an authority figure, and stalking. Adult protective services alerted the TBI last month to Silver, who was a caretaker for the adult.
Investigators said Silver began a sexual relationship with the victim and provided him with illicit drugs. Silver was taken into custody on Friday and was issued a $10,000 bond.
An investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving a vulnerable adult in Carter County has resulted in the arrest of the man’s caregiver.
