Select taps go dry in Kingsport, boil notice issued
Kingsport public utility officials have posted a boil water notice for several city neighborhoods.
An agency post on social media said the directive was put in place after conferring with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.
A waterline break at the city’s filtration plant resulted in a water outage in areas bounded by Stone Drive, Interstate 81, John B. Dennis Highway, Cooks Valley, Indian Springs, and Fall Creek. Water customers outside those areas are not included in the boil notice but state leaders continue to ask residents to conserve as much water as possible due to a strain on supplies from hurricane damage.
