VA Department of Emergency Management opens recovery center in Damascus
The Virginia Department of Emergency Management announced a Disaster Recovery Center will open today in the Town of Damascus, VA.
Officials said the center will be open Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on Sundays. It is located on N. Beaver Dam Road in Damascus. Additional locations will be announced in the coming days. Residents in multiple localities can visit any center for assistance including residents in Galax, Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Pulaski, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington and Wythe Counties. The centers can provide help with learning about disaster assistance programs, Applying for disaster assistance, Status of your FEMA application, Finding housing and rental assistance information. Flood victims can also register online at DisasterAssistance.gov or through the FEMA App.
