Man found guilty of murder after Lebanon Walmart parking lot shooting

A man has been found guilty in Russell County following a fatal shooting that happened March 5th in the Lebanon Walmart parking lot. A jury found Dennis Gilbert guilty Thursday of second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and shooting in a public place resulting in bodily injury. Gilbert confronted Zachary Cody Boyd in the parking lot, left, and then returned. After Gilbert returned, an argument ensued. Boyd pushed Gilbert, and Gilbert shot Boyd to death. Gilbert is scheduled to be sentenced on January 9, 2025.
