Early voting begins in TN: Helene floods bring concern and changes
Early voting for the November election starts Wednesday, October 16 in Tennessee and officials are worried about voting access for people in the Helene flood zones. Washington County, Tennessee elections officials say they are looking up every voter through county records who lives in an area impacted by flooding. Election officials say 11 people in the flood zone haven’t returned mail-in ballots they requested and plans are to visit them soon to make sure those ballots weren’t washed away. Officials also say that if you lost your ID in the flooding, you can get a free replacement at your DMV. Two polling places have changed in Carter County. Hampton High School voters will now go to the elementary school, and Elk Mills Volunteer Fire Department voters will be voting this cycle at Little Milligan Elementary.
