Aggravated assault charge for Erwin man

Washington County TN Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 59 year old Gerald N. Williams of Erwin, for Aggravated Assault on October 28. WCSO Deputies responded to an Aggravated Assault on Bumpus Cove Road around 5:30 p.m., October 27. Witnesses said Williams exited the vehicle he was riding in and ran towards the victim, hitting the victim in the face and they fought until both were on the ground. Williams choked the victim while continuing to strike her in the face. Witnesses pulled Williams off the victim, who then fled the scene. Deputies located Williams at a residence on Furnace Hill Road the following day and took him into custody. Williams was booked into the Washington County Detention Center. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 29.
