Jonesborough man accused of bringing explosive device into Justice Center

A bomb squad team from Johnson City had to be called in to the Washington County Justice Center after a homemade improvised explosive device was found in a prisoner’s belongings.
James Thomas Clay, 29, of Jonesborough was being processed on unrelated charges when officers were alerted to the IED that was removed without incident.
No injuries were reported.
