Survey now open to residents about future HUD funding
Public input is being gathered to determine how future funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will be used to address affordable housing needs and services in Bristol Tennessee and surrounding communities. The results of an online survey will be used to develop an annual action plan and a 5-year Consolidated Plan that prioritizes community needs and funding strategies for HUD grants that primarily benefit low to moderate income people. The City receives HUD funding through its Community Development Block Grant program and serves as the lead entity for the Northeast Tennessee/Virginia HOME Consortium, which also serves Kingsport, Johnson City, Bluff City, Sullivan County and Washington County in Tennessee, and the City of Bristol, Virginia. Residents in each of the communities are invited to take the survey, which is available now through Feb. 24 at www.bristoltn.org/HousingSurvey.
