Contract approved for Chestoa Bridge replacement

The Unicoi County Commission approved a contract for an engineering firm for the replacement of the Chestoa Bridge, which was destroyed by flooding from Hurricane Helene. Commissioners Monday night approved a contract with Mattern & Craig Engineers. After the engineering firm draws up plans for a new bridge, the county will seek bids for its construction. The project is pending approval from the mayor and FEMA.
