Virginia Democrats threaten boycott of Jamestown anniversary event due to President Trump appearance
Democrats are threatening to boycott an event next week in Jamestown following a report that President Donald Trump is planning to attend. The festivities on July 30 will be celebrating the 400th anniversary of the meeting of the state’s first legislative body. Democrats said in a statement that Trump does not represent the values that should be celebrated at such an event. Senate Majority Leader Tommy Norment called the partisan move “disappointing and embarrassing.”
