Burglars snatch funds raised by Hawkins County at weekend dog party
The offices of the Hawkins County Animal Shelter have been hit by a burglar. The non profit agency reported on their Facebook page that a thief broke into their headquarters on Highway 11W in Rogersville, damaged their safe and took just over $1,000. Those funds came from a ‘Summer Fun Bash’ the agency had over the weekend at Rogersville City Park. The shelter is asking anyone who wrote a check to their group to have those canceled while police try and find the suspects. Those interested in helping the shelter financially can visit their website and contribute through a secure Donorbox site.
