Bristol Tennessee Oil Company Fined For Illegal Discharge Into Cedar Creek
A Bristol Tennessee oil company has been fined more than 200 thousand dollars for contaminating Cedar Creek with an illegal discharge of a liquid chemical. Bristol City officials revealed to the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation in January of 2018 of the unlawful discharge by Necessary Oil Company and property owner Realm Properties at the site on Georgia Avenue. The company must pay 197 thousand 800 dollars in civil penalties and more than five thousand dollars in damages. In addition to the fines the company has been ordered to submit a corrective action plan and engineering report for repairs at the site.
