Home Owner, Firefighter Sent To Hospital After Blaze Destroys Russell County Home

An over night house fire, the tenth structure fire in Russell County Virginia so far this year sends the homeowner and a firefighter to the hospital. Emergency crews were called to 1074 Chesnut Road in Honaker around six oclock Monday evening. A kitchen fire quickly spread through the home. The man living in the home attempted to put out the fire but the blaze’s smoke was too thick. The home owner managed to escape and call 911, no further injuries were reported but the home was a total loss.
