UPDATE: VSP Identifies Driver in Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Wise

(UPDATE 8:52 A.M) Virginia State Police have identified the driver as Hunter B. Culbertson, 20, of Wise, Virginia. They say the crash occurred on Route 646 around 12:26 A.M Sunday morning. An investigation says Culbertson ran off the left side of the road, struck an embankment, and hit a tree. Authorities say the driver was wearing a helmet, and died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

A fatal crash in Wise County, Virginia Sunday has claimed the life of a motorcyclist.

According to Virginia State Police, they responded to a motorcycle accident just after midnight near Coeburn Mountain Road, where they say the driver died at the scene. The identity of the driver has not yet been revealed as the crash remains under investigation.
