Burn Ban For Some Parts Of The Region

Fire season in the region is still three and a half weeks away but already dry conditions are forcing several communities to issue burn bans. The city of Greeneville has issued a ban for open burning inside city limits. And in Buchanan County, a similar situation is in effect. Jeremy Cook is with the Oakview Volunteer Fire Department in Buchanan County

The bans will remain in effect till adequate rainfall improves dry conditions. The long range forecast calls for continued dry conditions through the weekend. Fire season begins October 15 and runs through December 15th.
