“Our suspect said Mossburg said the two victims in Winter Haven were seven and eight but his goal was to kill 11.”
Polk County, Florida Sheriff Grady Judd commenting on the suspect Stanley Mossburg, wanted for an Oct. 2 murder in Greeneville, Tennessee.
Mossburg is now facing two more murder charges after the bodies of two victims were found in Winter Haven, Florida. Mossburg’s capture Tuesday morning ends a 13 day manhunt that stretched into four states and resulted in 30 charges against him. The sheriff called Mossburg, “evil in the flesh.”
Judd revealed Tuesday that the Greeneville victim, Christopher Short, and the two in Florida were slashed with a knife.
“This is a spree killer. This is a man who said he enjoys killing. When you kill people with a knife, it’s up close. It’s personal. It’s based in anger, revenge, evil,” Judd said in a news conference.
