UPDATE: Red Onion prisoner Lee Boyd Malvo has case going before Supreme Court
The case of one of the DC snipers is now before the US Supreme Court.
The justices will consider a plea for resentencing from Lee Boyd Malvo—who is currently serving a life sentence at Red Onion State Prison in Wise County for his role in the three week shooting spree that left 10 people dead. Malvo was 17 when he sentenced and his attorneys argue that a 2016 ruling by the high court found life sentences for juveniles unconstitutional.
Legal experts say even if Malvo receives a new sentence, he will never leave prison because of other charges related to the shootings.
