Wytheville woman charged with attempted first-degree murder after allegedly trying to kill ex-boyfriend
A Wytheville, Virginia woman is in jail after authorities say she tried to kill her ex-boyfriend.
The Wythe County Sheriff’s Office says on December 26th, they were called to East Lee Highway, where they were told by a man that Tammy Hounshell, 47, had attempted to crash his vehicle while riding with him. He told police he then pulled into a construction site, where Hounshell then allegedly fired a shot into the vehicle, and a struggle ensued, causing another shot to be fired before the man was able to take the weapon away.
Hounshell fled from the scene but was captured a short time later. She is charged with attempted first degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and shooting into an occupied vehicle. She is being held without bound in the New River Valley Regional Jail.
