Hawkins EMA working to resolve radio communication issues
Clear communication is an issue the radio systems of the Hawkins County Emergency Management currently faces.
According to Jamie Miller, EMA Director, audio cannot be clearly heard from one end of the county to the other, which affects emergency communications including law enforcement, fire, and EMS. Small outages started to appear in November, but have since grown to long term major outages that began in December.
Miller tells Supertalk this is impacting daily communications and his office is working on a solution that will alleviate the issue for years to come.
