HCSO: 13-year old found driving intoxicated father to liquor store
A Rogersville man is dealing with a slew of charges after police say he was intoxicated and had his 13 year old son drive him to the liquor store.
A Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office report states they issued a BOLO for a man, identified as Johnny Naiper, reportedly under the influence with a child inside. He was also reportedly wanted for a violation of probation charge. The responding officer found a 13 year old behind the wheel during a traffic stop, and the report said the juvenile told police his father’s driving scared him after they left the house, and asked for his father to pull over so the juvenile could drive.
He also said Naiper told him to drive to the liquor store. Naiper was arrested on a violation of probation count, child endangerment, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
