Appalachia Man Sentenced To Prison For Stealing Car, Running From Police, And Driving Under The Influence
An Appalachia Virginia man will spend more than two years behind bars for stealing a car, eluding police with the vehicle, and driving it under the influence of methamphetamine. 19 year old Brendon Austin Caige Hill was convicted of stealing a car in May of 2019. Hill then refused to stop for deputies and sped away at a high rate of speed, and ran through a stop sign, The pursuit continued onto Birchfield Road as Hill continued driving recklessly at high speeds and nearly colliding with a school bus. Hill was eventually stopped when the deputy struck his vehicle with his police cruiser. Hill must spend two years and one month within the custody of the Virginia Department of Corrections. Following his release, Hill will also be on probation for ten years.
