Virginia Schedules Annual Statewide Tornado Drill

Coming on the heels of devastating tornadoes that killed more than 20 people in Nashville and Putman County, The National Weather Service and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management have scheduled the 2020 Virginia Statewide Tornado Drill for next Tuesday March 17 at 9:45 a.m. The drill will start with a test tornado warning sent in the form of a required monthly test by the NWS to the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration. In a press release Virginian’s are told to use the statewide test as an opportunity to test their tornado emergency procedures.
