Pursuit in Tazewell Leaves Two Injured, Officer Slightly Injured…Man Arrested
A man is jailed, two people are injured and a Virginia State Police officer was slightly injured after a pursuit in Tazewell Virginia. Virginia State Police say 22 year old Brandon E. Rathburn of Princeton, West Virginia failed to stop for Tazewell Police on Route 19 in Russell County. Rathburn continued on Route 460 where he took the Town of Bluefield exit when he crashed into a vehicle driven by a 75 year old Bluefield Virginia man who was seriously injured. The 77 year old female passenger was slightly injured. During the course of the pursuit, Rathburn also struck two state police vehicles, with one of the officers receiving minor injuries. Virginia State Police have charged Rathburn with malicious wounding of a police officer and one count of felony eluding police. We’ve not heard back from Tazewell authorities where charges are pending.
