Southwest Virginia To Receive More Than A Half Million Dollars For COVID-19 Relief For Low Income Residents
Several localities in Southwest Virginia will receive a share of more than 11 million dollars in funding allocated for COVID-19 relief for low income Virginians living in public housing. Bristol, Norton, Wytheville, Coeburn, Lebanon,Marion, Duffield, Abingdon, and Jonesville will share more than a half million dollars that will be used by pubic housing authorities for preparing, preventing, and responding to a Coronavirus outbreak. The funds are part of 685 million dollars allocated through the Public Housing Operating Fund and is made available through the CARES Act recently approved by Congress.
