Bristol City Schools To Get Budget Cuts, While City Employees Get Raise
They’re making cuts to the school system and giving city employees a raise. That much is now known after Tuesday nights Bristol Virginia City Council meeting. Council members…in an effort to save money for an upcoming multi million dollar payment on the Falls Development Site have decided on first reading to trim 300 thousand dollars from the city’s school budget and give city employees a one percent raise. What isnt known at this time is the impact those cuts will have on the school systems operations. The measure still needs approval on second and final reading in June.
