Bill Hartley chosen as new mayor of Bristol, VA, Anthony Farnum selected as vice mayor
The Bristol, VA City Council has selected Bill Hartley to take over as city mayor.
During a meeting Wednesday morning, the Bristol, VA City Council unanimously selected Hartley, with one council member absent, to move from his former vice-mayor role to mayor. He takes over for Neal Osborne, current council member and mayor for the city over the last year. Hartley previously served as mayor from 2016-2017, and has been on the city council since 2014.
As it pertains to the vice-mayor role, council member Anthony Farnum was selected to assume the role formerly held by Hartley. This is Farnum’s first time serving in either the mayor or vice-mayor role since being appointed to the city council in 2018.
