Economically Distressed Counties Decrease In Tennessee
Despite its economy being ravaged by the Coronavirus Pandemic, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee says the Volunteer State has the fewest economically distressed counties since 2007. Tennessee now has eleven economically distressed counties, that’s down from 15 in 2019 according to the Appalachian Regional Commission. No other Tennessee counties were added to the distressed list this year. The Appalachian Regional Commission publishes an index of economic status for every county in the United States each year.
