Johnson City Man Jailed After Attacking Victim With Baseball Bat

A Johnson City man is jailed after he allegedly beat another man with a baseball bat during an altercation. Police arrested 36 year old Nathaniel W. Buttram following an investigation of a fight between Buttram and another man in the 1900 block of South Roan Street. The victim told police he had been beaten with a baseball bat by Buttram, who fled the scene prior to officers’ arriving. A witness told police he saw the altercation and tried to intervene. The victim was transported to the hospital and Buttram was arrested and transported to the Washington County Tennessee Detention Center where he was awaiting an arraignment in General Sessions Court.
