Two Arrested After Ramming Deputy’s Cruiser
A man is in jail this morning after allegedly ramming his vehicle into a deputy’s cruiser, then leads police on a pursuit that ends with the arrests of two people on various charges. A Sullivan County Sheriff’s Deputy was checking on a parked vehicle at South Holston Dam when the driver put his car in reverse and rammed the cruiser twice. 20 year old James Shuff led deputies on a chase that came to an end on Beechwood Drive in Bristol. 18 year old Emily Stephens, a passenger in the vehicle was arrested on drug charges and released on her own recognition. Shuff was charged with numerous offenses including aggravated assault, reckless endangerment as well as two outstanding warrants. Shuff is being held in the Sullivan County Jail.
