Virginia Residents Asked To Report Receipt Of Any Unsolicited Packages Of Chinese Seeds
The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is asking Virginia residents who may have received unsolicited packages of seeds that appear to have originated from China, to report them to the agency. The types of seeds being sent via mail are not known at this time. The department is also asking residents who received the seeds, that have Chinese writing on them to not plant them due to the seeds possibly being an invasive plant. Invasive species wreak havoc on the environment, destroy native plants and insects and severely damage crops. If you have received seeds in the mail that were unsolicited your asked to contact the Office of Plant Industry Services at the Virginia Department of Agriculture.
