UPDATE: Suit dismissed but another injunction honored to prevent legal toppling of Lee statue
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam doubled-down on social media Monday just moments after a Richmond judge issued a temporary order to stop any legal maneuvers aimed at taking down the Robert E. Lee monument from the streets of the state capital.
Make no mistake, the Lee monument will come down. And Virginia will be better for it. https://t.co/Q2RhjNjozx

While one court case to fight the takedown was dismissed another asking for an injunction was honored which prevents any action for 90 days.
Northam said in a Twitter post that the statute was coming down and the state will be better for it. The governor called for the Lee monument to be removed in the midst of the George Floyd protests in June because he said it symbolized a racist cause.
