UPDATE: Court considering mental evaluation for suspect accused of threat against US Senator Mark Warner

A federal magistrate judge is considering ordering a mental evaluation for a Virginia Beach man who threatened to kill US Senator Mark Warner.

Court documents say prosecutors made the motion this week during proceedings held in Abingdon for the exam for Dylan Stephen Jayne who is still being held in jail.

Jayne was arrested in June after US attorneys presented evidence of the threat- a voicemail Jayne, 37, left at Warner’s Southwest Virginia satellite office last year where he demanded social security payments or he would kill the lawmaker.
