Imposter Nurse In Morristown Sentenced For Wire Fraud, Health Care Fraud

A Morristown woman, and convicted felon was sentenced today in Greeneville for working as a nurse in East Tennessee, even though she had no nursing license and no legitimate experience. 44 year old Misty Dawn Bacon, is sentenced to 51 months in prison after pleading guilty to wire fraud, and using another person’s identity to commit federal and state crimes. Bacon, accomplished her scheme by obtaining license numbers of nurses with similar first names. She then created phony aliases and used the real nurse’s license number to pose as an actual nurse. Bacon, even went so far as to administer medications and became familiar with patient’s private medical information. Bacon worked for eight different health care providers between 2012 and 2018
