Voter registration deadline in Tennessee is one week away
Those in Tennessee who want to vote in this year’s election in November have until next Monday to fill out their application.
Secretary of State Tre Hargett issued a reminder for the application deadline which is Oct. 5.
State officials are also anticipating a good number of mail-in ballots for this year’s presidential election. A ruling by the US Supreme Court earlier this month says a first-time voter is not required to vote in person if they meet mail-in guidelines.
Those rules include a person having an underlying health condition that could prohibit them from visiting a polling place due to the COVID virus.
