Congressman Morgan Griffith Says House Speaker Has Wrong Priorities For Coronavirus Relief
As negotiations in Washington D.C., continue on another stimulus check for United States citizens, Ninth District U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith says he could support a reasonable amount for an unemployment supplement, but not so much that it encourages people to stay unemployed. Griffith says in a letter to constituents on Monday that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is pushing a Democratic proposal costing two point two trillion dollars, and includes allowing illegal immigrants to receive stimulus payments, as the bill does not require Social Security number verification. Griffith ends the letter by saying it is unfortunate that House Democratic leaders have chosen to pursue other priorities.
