Clintwood, Haysi high schools to be leveled for business development acreage in Dickenson County
Dickenson County is receiving more than $900,000 in grant funding to develop former high school sites into property that will be used to attract new industry.
The Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority awarded the funds to the county’s industrial development authority that will result in the structures at Clintwood and Haysi high schools to be razed to add inventory to their available properties that will be marketed for companies.
The county currently has one lone industrial site to offer—acreage located in the Red Onion section of the area between Pound and Clintwood.
