Halloween website advising Northeast TN and Southwest VA residents not to trick-or-treat due to ‘high levels’ of COVID-19 spread in the region
A website that reviews COVID-19 levels across counties in America and risk of spread by trick-or-treating has nearly all Northeast TN and Southwest VA counties in high risk of spread.
Halloween2020.org uses a chart from Harvard Global Health Institute to determine levels of COVID-19 spread, and all counties in our region are either in an orange or red level, meaning there is large community spread of COVID-19, and trick-or-treating for the upcoming Halloween holiday is not recommended.
The website also provides recommendations for alternative Halloween plans for counties that have large spread of COVID-19. More information can be found by clicking here.
