Snow and wind impact predicted in latest NWS models for Monday
A National Weather Service report issued Friday says portions of the Mountain Empire could have to prepare for a shot of winter weather.
The bulletin from the Morristown office said the potential exists for significant snowfall in the far East Tennessee mountains and in Southwest Virginia locations above 3,000 feet beginning Monday afternoon.
Their latest models include a chance of high winds that could produce single-digit wind chill and affect visibility on area roads.
The report said those conditions are predicted to subside by Tuesday morning.
