Select Virginia SNAP recipients to receive emergency allotments in December

Certain Virginia families receiving SNAP benefits will continue to receive those funds into December through emergency allotments.

These emergency allotment funds will be issued to only households that are not already receiving the maximum monthly SNAP benefit allotment for their household size.

Documents from the USDA say these funds are set to be issued Dec. 16, with an estimated 245,000 households expected to be receiving a combined $42.7 million in Dec.
