Data: More than 150 inmates and workers at SW Virginia correctional centers being treated for coronavirus
Data released by state prison officials show more than 150 inmates and workers at facilities in Southwest Virginia are being treated for the coronavirus.
The Virginia Department of Corrections reported the most cases at the Bland Correctional Center with 59 prisoners infected along with 28 officers.
The Red Onion supermax Prison in Pound has 20 inmates receiving medical care for the virus along with 2 officers.
The remaining cases include 16 at the Wise Correctional Unit in Coeburn, 14 at Keen Mountain in Buchanan County, 10 workers at the Pocahontas correction center in Tazewell County, and 2 inmates at the Marion facility in Smyth County.
