Tennessee and Virginia attorney generals ask Congress to extend CARES Act funding
Virginia and Tennessee’s attorney generals have joined their colleagues from 47 other states in urging Congress to allocate more COVID relief funds by extending the reach of the CARES Act.
Those federal dollars have enabled local counties and states to supplement salaries to front line workers, provide needed protection equipment, and give other financial assistance to families and organizations.
The letter signed by the law advocates says the CARES deadline of Dec. 20 will not be sufficient as pandemic-related expenses will overflow into 2021.
