TNAchieves still in need of mentors as recruiting deadline nears
The TN Achieves mentor program for first time college students is still in need of thousands of volunteers as the Friday mentor recruiting deadline approaches.
It’s part of the Tennessee Promise, that allows students to attend the state’s 13 community colleges, 27 technical colleges, or other eligible institutions offering an associates degree through a last dollar scholarship. Students that use the Tennessee Promise are required to be paired with a mentor, and officials say over 2,000 volunteers are still in need for the program.
