Greeneville residents killed in Interstate 40 wreck in Hickman County

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports two people from Greeneville were killed Sunday following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 40.

The preliminary crash report said a tractor-trailer had slowed on the roadway for a traffic jam when a car drove by Brett Bledsoe, 25, slammed into the back of the rig. Bledsoe and his passenger, Jessica Colter, 21, died from their injuries.

Another car crashed into the back of Bledsoe’s car, injuring both passengers inside. The wreck resulted in that portion of I-40 in Hickman County located 60 miles outside Nashville to be closed down for several hours.
