Virginia health officials change contact tracing procedures
The drastically high number of COVID-19 through community spread has caused the Virginia Department of Health to change their contact tracing methods.
A report issued Monday from Health Commissioner Norman Oliver said county and state officials in the near future will be contacting:
– People diagnosed with the virus in the past six days and those in their household.
– Those living or working in or visiting congregate living facilities including long-term care centers.
– Patients who were involved in known clusters or outbreaks
– People at increased risk of severe illness
Oliver said the new procedures will help more than 2,000 health professionals across the state helping identify COVID cases.
