TN Human Services extending Summer Food Service Program through entire school year
A summer meal delivery program launched by the Tennessee Dept. of Human Services to feed children in need of meals during the COVID-19 pandemic will continue through the entire school year.
The program’s extension was announced Tuesday and allows sponsors to continue receiving funding serve meals into 2021. Sponsors will also be able to provide grab and go meals, and meals with multiple days worth of food.
The Summer Food Service Program was created to ensure children 18 and younger that benefit from school meal programs can continue to have access to nutritional meals if schools are closed or students are unable to attend in-person.
