Virginia Education Association Calling For Schools To Return To Virtual Format As Cases Of COVID Soar
On Thursday, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam announced new COVID-19 restrictions including a modified stay at home order. On Friday, The Virginia Education Association, which represents more than 40 thousand school workers in the Commonwealth is calling for the Governor to place the state’s school systems in a virtual learning format. Over the past week, Virginia has averaged more than 35 hundred COVID-19 cases per day. The group says those numbers demand that the state pauses in person learning until the situation drastically improves.
