UPDATE: Sheriff says Hanselman escaped from medical center early Friday
A Greene County, Tennessee suspect wounded in an officer-involved shooting made his escape from Johnson City Medical Center just before 6:30 Friday morning.
Sheriff Wesley Holt said in a statement that Mark Hanselman, 55, was taken to the Ballad Health facility for a surgical procedure for the wound received when he was shot by a deputy last week.
Hanselman’s escape triggered a shelter-in-place alert at the ETSU campus which was later lifted.
