UPDATE: Hawkins County going online for classes after Christmas break
Hawkins County Director of Schools Matt Hixon has announced a switch to all virtual classroom time once students return from Christmas break next month.
Students will have online instruction from Jan. 4 until Jan. 19 with a tentative plan to return to the classroom on Jan. 20. Hixon wrote that the move was to coincide with potential quarantines and absences that have been projected by area health officials.
Hixon also said that the plan is for Hawkins County to utilize their ‘Yellow’ phase plan which calls for classes to run from 8 am to 3 pm Monday through Thursday and specialized instruction online on Fridays.
